Why a rug shop, not a carpet truck
We hear the question at nearly every Greenacres address we visit. The tile is already booked for a cleaning, and the good rug anchoring the family room seems like it could go along for the ride.
The trouble is that a stretched wall-to-wall carpet and a hand-tied rug are built for opposite treatment. Carpet is fixed to the slab and made to be scrubbed where it lies. A fine rug is a standalone textile — wool or silk knotted onto a cotton foundation, dyed with colors that were never meant to sit under a scalding extraction wand.
Clean a real rug in place and three quiet failures follow: the fine sand ground into the base never lifts, the dyes can wander, and the rug dries slowly against your floor. In the wet stretch of a Greenacres summer, that slow, uneven drying is exactly how browning and a sour smell take hold.

Wool, silk & everything hand-knotted
Every fiber and dye family asks for its own handling — that is the whole reason we test before we wash. Each rug below moves through the same in-plant care: measured, pH and dye tested, deep-dusted, washed, and speed-dried.
A hand-knotted Oriental is a textile, not carpet. It has earned a full soak in the plant — not a hot wand dragged over it on a screened lanai.

Pricing, the honest way
Set two 9×12s side by side and they can still demand entirely different work.
A machine-made 8×10 in decent shape is a straightforward wash. The same footprint hand-knotted, with unstable dyes, years of buried grit and a pet accident soaked into one corner, is a different job from start to finish.
What actually sets the price: measured size, fiber and construction, dye stability, how much soil is down in the pile, pet contamination, and whether the fringe or edges need repair.
So we inspect first and price once — before any work begins.

Our bench, our work
Straight answers
We come to you — pickup and delivery only, with nothing for you to drop off. Our van covers all of Greenacres, from Original Greenacres and Sherwood Forest to the gated streets of River Bridge, plus neighboring Lake Worth, Palm Springs and Wellington. We wrap the rug at your door and bring it home once every stage of the work is finished.
Wall-to-wall carpet is fixed to the slab and built to be scrubbed in place; a hand-knotted rug is a loose textile that needs to be lifted, submerged and rinsed flat. Cleaning it on your tile locks grit in the foundation and lets it dry slowly in Greenacres humidity, which is how a musty edge and browning start.
We test it before we wash it. Every rug gets a pre-inspection that includes a pH reading and a dye-stability check, because some older vegetable-dyed pieces will run the moment they meet water. If yours reads as a bleed risk we adjust the method, and we show you exactly what we found before anything is wet.
We set the price after the inspection, never over the phone. Size, fiber, weave, dye stability, how deep the soil sits in the pile, any pet contamination and repairs all change what a rug needs, so a phone figure would be a guess. When we collect it we examine it and give you a firm number before any cleaning starts.
Most of the time, yes. Urine dries into alkaline salts buried in the foundation, and dabbing the surface never reaches them, so we submerge and flush the whole rug to dissolve them out. Older or repeated accidents can resist, and we give you an honest read at the inspection on what result is realistic before you commit. More on pet odor removal.
We do both, and every repair is done by hand at our own shop rather than shipped away. That covers fringe repair and replacement, side and edge overcasting, hole repair and reweaving, moth damage, dry rot, resizing and full restoration. If a repair would cost more than the rug is worth, we tell you plainly instead of selling it.
Most rugs are back in roughly a week. After the wash we speed-dry in a temperature and humidity controlled room, and that stage is what keeps one color from creeping into the next, so we will not rush it. Rugs that also need hand repairs run a little longer, and you get a straight timeline at the inspection.
